SMC Gower Architects were appointed as part of a Design & Build team to deliver these 50,000 sqft of high quality ‘state of the art’ offices, located on the Wicker in Sheffield and adjacent to the river Don.
This 5 storey office development, with associated parking, is located on a prime corner site in this area of the city and forms part of an initial phase of new buildings aimed at regenerating this unique waterfront location.
The location of the site within this historic part of the city inevitably required detailed archaeological investigations prior to the commencement of the primary construction works.
The building design facilitates the subdivision of the floor plates into four primary uses around 2 primary vertical cores, with a high quality palette of materials used for the external envelope and hard landscaping.
